Principal, US & Canadian Tax
Vangie is SKL’s business manager. Since joining the company in 1990, Vangie has worked extensively with personal tax clients, coordinating work delivered on their files. Her experience, insight, and passion enable Vangie to continually improve efficiency of the company’s operations. As a result, she has been part of the firm’s steady growth in the number of clients supported with high-level US and Canadian tax services. Vangie recently joined the group of SKL principals managing the company.
She earned an accounting degree in her hometown of Manila in the Philippines. After she arrived in Vancouver, Vangie began honing her accounting skills with a trust company. Her extensive work experience in Vancouver also includes stints with a wide variety of organizations, ranging from a women’s clothing company to a tools manufacturer, a school, and a church. But she found her calling at SKL, where Vangie thrives on the camaraderie of the team and views clients and staff as members of her family.
A life-long learner, Vangie is always interested in learning about new technology and exploring the world of entrepreneurship. Outside of the office, Vangie loves being active. When not reading a book, she’s walking, hiking, biking, and dancing. Staying healthy and fit allows her to keep up with her ultimate passion: her nine active grandchildren.
